Professor Thomas Chemmanur
Thomas J. Chemmanur is currently a Professor of Finance and Hillenbrand Distinguished Fellow at the Carroll School of Management, Boston College, where he has taught for several years. Prior to joining Boston College, he was Associate Professor of Finance at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University for several years. He has also taught at the Sloan School of Management, MIT, the Stern School of Business, New York University, and the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
Chemmanur has published several theoretical and empirical articles in top finance journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, as well as other well-ranked finance and economics journals such as the Journal of Financial Intermediation, the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and Financial Management.
Professor Vikas Agarwal
Vikas Agarwal is Bank of America Distinguished Chair and Professor of Finance at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Vikas received his Ph.D. in finance from the London Business School. He is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Financial Research, University of Cologne, Germany. He also holds a Research Associate position at EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Center, France. He currently serves as a Director on the board of the Southeastern Alternative Fund Association and on the academic advisory council of Decatur Capital Management. His broad areas of research interest include investments, household finance, private equity, and venture capital. His research addresses issues related to institutional investors (exchange-traded funds, hedge funds, and mutual funds), household finance, and private securities. His articles have appeared in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Financial Studies, and Management Science. His research has been cited and discussed in the financial press and magazines including Bloomberg, Euromoney, Financial Times, Forbes, International Herald Tribune, New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
Associate Professor Andy Kim
Andy Kim is an Associate Professor of Finance at SKK Business School, Sungkyunkwan University. Prior to joining SKK Business School, he was Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). He received his Ph.D. in Finance from University of Minnesota. His research addresses issues related to behavioral finance and corporate governance. His articles have appeared in academic journals such as the European Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Pacific Basin Finance Journal.
Associate Professor Elvira Sojli
Elvira is an Associate Professor of Finance and Scientia Fellow in the School of Banking and Finance, the University of New South Wales. Her current work tries to understand the role of and determinants of women’s participation in innovation. She is particularly interested in the international aspect of differences across countries and disciplines. Her previous work has focussed on international finance and market microstructure.
Elvira was an Associate Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2008-2016. She was a Marie Curie research fellow for the period 2009-2011 and a research fellow at the Duisenberg School of Finance from 2010-2014. Her work has been published in top finance and economics journals and has been presented at the AEA, AFA, WFA, EFA among many other conferences. Elvira has visited for extended periods the National University of Singapore and Haas School of Business.
